LPG Autogas
10 "Top Tips"
Step gently and save loot, to boot
1. There are over 1500 LPG filling
sites in the UK. Get a file listing them loaded into your Sat Nav
system today even if you're not already on gas. Having them highlighted
as you drive around will help you remove the myth that there aren't
many. You can buy a download from www.go-autogas.com or join a sharing
site which includes European filling stations at
http://www.gps-data-team.com/poi/united_kingdom/petrol/
2. In Europe LPG can be called GPL,
Autogas, Flusigas, Propane,
Propan. Most small filling station has attendants that can be
disappointed if you start filling yourself.
3. When travelling abroad always make
sure you take your
LPG filler
adaptor. As it is very annoying to travel through France without
being
able to run on gas. Arun
Autogas, sell the "Dish" type for France / Italy / Czech Rep and
Poland. The "Acme inch and three quarters" threaded adaptor for Belgium
and Germany. And even the bayonet adaptor for our European visitors
4. A fantastic Investment financially
and environmentally and can be ruined by deciding who installs the
system to your vehicle on cost alone. Saving a few pounds in the beging
can cost you dearly later. The Autogas conversion cannot been seen in a
similar way as to buying a computer or tin of baked beans.

5. The equipment being used is only as
good as the installer. Always ask would else fits the same system. If
there aren't quite a few you have to ask your self why ? And just as
importantly who else can service it. Systems need to be adjusted every
20000 miles and more frequently have the inline filter elements changed.
Insurance companies prefer approved installations, look for the logo

6. Fit the biggest tank, another few
litres always comes in helpful. Ensure that the installer is going to
fit the biggest they can get and not just what they have in stock at
the right price.

7. Do you really want to have the
filler colour matched. It will chip off and you could loss it. There
are more important things to consider. Motor manufacturers don't paint
their filler lids, the body work flaps yes but not the cap - have a
look around the Citreon Berlingo is an example
8. All LPG conversions enables petrol vehicles to run on either LPG or Petrol controlled by the driver from inside the vehicle.

10. Not all LPG converted vehicles
avoid the Congestion charge. ONLY certain vehicles get
Exemption from the
London congestion charge Zone. Frequent visitors can save a
staggering £2080 each year.
And a dramatic reduction in emissions
