LPG Congestion Charge Exemptions

Great news, Transport for London (TfL) July 2008:- 

The London Congestion Charge scheme has reverted back to the pre-Feb '08 pricing structure.

LPG "Powershift" approved vehicles will continue to pay only £10 per year registration,  

all other vehicles that are not legible for discounts will pay £8 a day.

London Congestion Charging Exemptions

Many LPG vehicles can be made exempt of the £8.00 per day London Congestion Charging, when fitted with the appropriate lpg system by us at Arun Autogas (AAG*). Ring us on 01903 715715

It is important to note that the vehicle model, engine capacity, must have manual transmission (except those stated) and model year in order to be exempt from the London Congestion Charge. Once the certified vehicle has had a proven system fitted by a Powershift Approved installer, registration requires an annual charge {currently it's ten pounds} and our certificate & system identification number.

Alternative Fuel Cars the Powershift Register and registering for annual CC Exemption

Some vehicles using gas, electric, fuel cells and bi/dual fuel will be freed from paying the charge.

But they must be approved cars or approved Vans that have been converted by an approved supplier as listed on the Transport Action Powershift Register maintained by the Energy Saving Trust or an equivalent register maintained by an equivalent body in the European Economic Area (EEA).
Alternative fuel goods vehicles (vans and lorries) must meet Euro III emissions standards or higher and alternative fuel cars and light commercial vehicles must meet emissions standards that are 40% above Euro IV standards.

To gain exemption for these types of vehicles, the owners will have to register with Transport for London.
